As a national distributor, we recognise the impact of our operations on the local and global environment. We are committed to continuously improving our environmental performance throughout the RKC business in accordance with both environmental legislation and our own objectives.
Our Environment
- We source products from UK manufacturers where possible to ensure the products we supply are produced to recognised ecological standards and have a low carbon footprint
- We reduce energy consumption by using energy efficient lighting, fully insulated buildings and no Air Conditioning Systems
- Throughout our business we use electronic methods of communication & invoicing where possible to reduce paper consumption.
Our Distribution
- The RKC fleet of delivery vehicles use computerised routing systems to optimise delivery routes and reduce fuel usage
- Up to date engine management systems, and vehicle regulators optimise fuel consumption and minimise emissions.
- All RKC vans and company-owned vehicles are serviced regularly, and are depreciated in line with their environmental life-span
- By utilising pallet networks for our national customers, we can optimise efficiencies including fuel consumption, thus saving on unnecessary emissions.
- All of our vehicles are low emission compliant/Adblue ready. We are investing in electric sales vehicles throughout 2023 and beyond
Our Products

- We perform audits of all new suppliers to verify that their products comply with all environmental legislation
- We work with our supplier partners to identify ways to minimise packaging, consolidate collection & delivery of stock orders and to actively promote sustainable products.
- We offer products which are biodegradable & use raw materials from renewable resources.

- We promote a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the RKC business and have a dedicated Environmental
- Champion in place at our Head Office to educate, promote & monitor our environmental initiatives to all employees
- Here at RKC the company Intranet allows employees to access all environmental policies, targets and achievements which helps to reinforce the role of every individual in achieving our environmental targets.
